CHIN AUGMENTATION

Procedure

1. Anesthesia with sedation is applied.
2. A small incision is made inside the mouth around gum and lower lip area. Through this incision, the cosmetic surgeon creates space 2-3 cm. for the chin implant then place the silicone the selected position.
3. A surgeon will stitches incisions with dissolved silk. Typically takes approximately 1 hour to perform; however, if you are having additional procedures, operating time will increase accordingly to the facial shape.

POST OPERATIVE CARE

1. Cold compress in the chin area for 1-2 days
2. Avoid eating foods that are hard or require chewing force.
3. Drink water using a straw. Avoid drinking or eating foods that are hot or cold.
4. Frequently rinse your mouth with mouth wash, salt water or clean water
5. Do not use tongue or hands to pull the stitched thread and do not smile too wide.
6. Thoroughly wash vegetable and fruits to avoid any mouth infection. Raw food such as raw fish or meat are forbid to prevent any infection.
7. Do not drink any alcohol and smoking at least 3 weeks after the surgery.
8. Follow up appointment with a doctor within 1 week after the procedure and 4 weeks to follow up.
9. The swelling will diminish after 1-2 months after the treatment. A new chin will be in shape because the silicone will firmly bond to the bone ridge. The silicon will not move unless it get a hard impact on the area.
